True wellness comes from being in tune with your own body, listening and responding to its needs. But in the midst of life, we often neglect our inner voice that says “slow down,” “eat something green,” or “get up and take a stretch break” as we attempt to meet deadlines, maintain relationships, and pay bills. Thankfully, we can use cannabis enhance the connection with our bodies and discover self-care practices that work best in our own lives.

1. Nutrition

Mama always said “Eat your veggies” – bet she didn’t know cannabis was a vegetable! Raw cannabis (both hemp and marijuana) is incredibly nutritious.

The leaves, seeds, and flower of this plant are loaded with healthy omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acids, antioxidants, protein, and of course, those cannabinoids to help support your endocannabinoid system. You can juice the leaves, mix them into salads, or sprinkle the buds onto dishes just like you would with any other herb.

Don’t have access to the raw plant? Try some hemp seeds or oil from your local grocery store!

Cannabis can also help make eating healthy fun. It can inspire creativity in the kitchen and open your mind to trying new foods since everything tastes absolutely amazing.

Plus, cannabis can help with digestion, treat nausea, and stimulate appetite!

2. Fitness

Whether it’s motivating you to actually go on that run, ease the pain after a hard workout, or make you more aware of your body as you master that yoga pose, cannabis can be used as a tool to help you stay physically fit.

3. Responsibility

It may seem counter-intuitive, but cannabis can actually make that to-do list a little easier and keep you positive as you work through it.

Cleaning the house, making dinner, calling your parents… Whatever it is you’re dreading, cannabis is sure to make it at least a little more fun.

4. Rejuvenation

It’s vital to our emotional health that we take at least a little time each day to do something that we love.

Reading, crafting, listening to music, journaling… Whatever it is, cannabis can help you be present in your moment and enjoy it fully without worry or stress from your day.

5. Sleep

Chronic pain or stress can seriously hinder sleep, which is vital for maintaining both mental and physical health.

Cannabis can help prepare your body for rest by quieting your brain or reducing pain long enough for you to fall asleep, and it can even be used to help you stay asleep to get a full night’s rest.
