Montel Williams Receives Award For Medical Cannabis Advocacy

Montel Williams is an actor, former American television personality, and a high-profile advocate for medical cannabis. In fact, last week he received a lifetime achievement award for his hard work and dedication on the matter. Also, he just so happens to be debuting his own brand of medical cannabis.

From his books to his television show, Montel Williams has stolen people’s hearts in more ways than one. However, his decision to debut his own line of medical cannabis is what makes cannabis enthusiasts love him the most.

Williams is one of the highest profile advocates for medical cannabis in the United States. And to honor his efforts and dedication on the matter, this week he is receiving a lifetime achievement award.

Over 17 years ago, the former television show host was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. After turning to opioids for treatment, he then became severely addicted. So addicted that it still affects how he feels today, as he says,

I shifted over to cannabis and it made a difference in my life.

However, switching to cannabis made a dramatic difference in his life. Now, he is debuting his own line of medical cannabis.

Last week, Women Abuv Ground honored Montel by awarding him its 2017 Lifetime Achievement Award for using his celebrity to bring awareness to medical cannabis for treatment of chronic illnesses.

Williams received his award at WAG’s first annual CannaCool Lounge, hosted by Super Bowl champ Marvin Washington. WAG is a professional cannabis networking organization, dedicated to educating and empowering people in the emerging cannabis industry.
