5 Famous People Who Smoked Weed On Live TV

While the act isn’t as shocking as it was twenty years ago or more, surprisingly, there is still a stigma around people smoking weed on live television. But, as more people choose to do so, that stigma might disappear. Here are five people that have done their part for the cause.

1. Bill Maher

In early 2016, Bill Maher lit and smoked a joint with rapper Killer Mike, during an episode of Real Time with Bill Maher. Before doing so, and, in order to wrap things up (if only for the sake of legality), he said,

I use medical marijuana because my third eye has glaucoma. This is private property and I do have a card.

2. Zach Galifinakas

Although it’s his show, Bill Maher isn’t the only one to have smoked on Real Time with Bill Maher, as he has also been joined by the likes of Killer Mike and Zack Galinakas in doing so.

The latter took place during a conversation about prohibition, no less, where Galifianakis pulled out a blunt and proceeded to smoke and pass it to other guests – and, yes, it was a real joint, too.

3. Nate Diaz

When Nate Diaz puffed on his vape pen, the UFC legend instantly become one of the first high-profile athletes to admit that they use cannabis, even going so far as to explain why he does.

Following his shock loss to Conor McGregor, Diaz explained why he uses the vape pen, which helps with the healing process. Given how banged up the fighter was, well, who could blame him?

4. Snoop Dogg

If there’s one person in the public eye that isn’t shy about their smoking habits, obviously, it’s got to be Snoop. Really, it’s never been a secret, as he’s more likely to be seen smoking during most public appearances – including television – than not.

Despite that, he still makes this list, as he’s the only person that’s admitted to smoking at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

5. Miley Cyrus

Like Snoop, Miley Cyrus has never been shy about letting people know that not only does she smoke, but she smokes a lot. She’s written about it, sung about it and, of course, smoked on stage at the MTV Europe Music Awards. What prompted Miss Cyrus to do so?

I knew the fans would love it. It’s not something that I think about.
