What Happens When Americans Try Bizarre American Foods

So, what is the ‘M’ in a PB&M sandwich? You might want to know the answer before you try it, as the answer and taste might leave you feeling a little queasy.

Yum

As you can probably imagine, some of America’s regional dishes aren’t always popular in other regions, as seen in this video by BuzzFeed. The video sees some of the unique cuisines from around the United States being tasted by others for the first time – with some being more unique than others – but that’s why it had to be done.

First up, it’s the “Lady’s Brunch” that looks like a cheeseburger, but with some extra special additions, in the form of eggs and bacon. But to top it all off, it has a Krispy Kreme donut (that is sliced in half) used as the bun.

Really, what’s not to love?

Next up, it is the aforementioned PB&M sandwich, which takes us back to the earlier question, as to what exactly is the ‘M’ in the PB&M?

Well, despite one of the guesses by the BuzzFeed guinea pigs, the ‘M’ is not for “marshmallow fluff.” What it actually stands for won’t be spoiled in this article, so you’ll have to watch the video, but there’s no doubt that many people in the South will already know what the combination is.

Another first for the test subjects is the “scrapple,” which is not a beverage, even though some assumed that it was. As per the Wikipedia entry, “scrapple” is actually a mush of pork scraps and trimmings combined with cornmeal and wheat flour,” which is then fried – as one of the guinea pigs says, “it is a winning formula for human food.”

It doesn’t stop there, though, with some of the more unique offerings, which you might not believe are actually a thing.
