Stop What You’re Doing & Watch Bernie Get His Revenge

nn2 Stop What Youre Doing & Watch Bernie Get His Revenge

Everyone’s favorite weed characters are back! The Nug Nation has just released their latest episode, “The Debate”. Watch more characters than ever before come to life and laugh your butt off as Hilary battles Trump.

The Debate

Bong Burgundy analyzes the hilarious spoof debate. In their take on politics, Nug Nation presents the first “Presidential Debate Lip-Sych Battle”. Watch as Donald Trump makes his own lyrics to Kid Rock’s first big hit, “Ba-wit-da-ba”.

But the real action happens as Affy and Diesel watch the debate and begin to argue politics. Things get heated, to say the least, and we see the first appearance of one of the greatest strains of all time, Blue Dream.

If you want to discover his identity, you have to check out the video.

The Nug Nation

This tongue-in-cheek take on one small Colorado town mischievously mocks just about everything. From name brands to national trends, pot to politics, no subject is safe. And with that no-holds-barred approach, it makes the perfect spot for real cannabis companies to plop down some product placement.

Host Bong Burgundy heads the news desk and does his own celebrity interviews. He already interviewed famous celebrity Redman in his series “Potty Talks”. All the big names are there, and by big names, I mean your favorite strains of herb. Green Crack, Girl Scout Cookie, White Widow and more, every new resident of NugVille has an inspiration.

Filmed in Colorado, with real weed, The Nug Nation is America’s favorite weed comedy. Co-creator Dylan Pfohl said that making fun of serious situations helps to give us healthy perspective.

We felt like it was time for people to get a break from constant barrage of negative spin from the presidential candidates. We had a blast coming up with ways to find humor in something that’s really so irritating.

You can check out their antics on their website, YouTubeFacebook, Instagram, and Twitter.

Who do you think they should feature next? What strain characters would you like to see? Share with us on Facebook, Twitter, or in the comments below.

Does Cannabis Kill Cancer Cells? This Doctor Says Yes

this doctor says yes hero Does Cannabis Kill Cancer Cells? This Doctor Says Yes

It can be hard to hammer the cold facts of how cannabis heals into the minds of those clouded by old rhetoric. Even I have trouble with people I grew up with, and even smoked with, when I was younger. Sometimes, it takes a more “accredited” voice to say the same things for people we care about to finally listen. If you suffer from the same situation, here’s a video you want to watch, and share.

Take it from a guy who knows

Who better to talk about the cancer-killing properties of cannabis than a government doctor? No one! Dr. Sunil Kumar Aggarwal, MD, PhD, formerly worked for the United States government. In fact, he helped write the content on their new official website about cannabis and cancer.

Can cannabis kill cancer cells? Yes! We know that for a fact. That’s been shown over and over again… in laboratories, petri dishes, animals… and increasingly we have started to generate case reports with real good objective markers.

So why is cannabis illegal?

Dr. Aggarwal states that we have known about these effects since the War on Drugs began! He says that the major reason it stays illegal is due to political pressure, censoring scientific research. But that is starting to change. 2016 has been and continues to be a great year for cannabis.

Thankfully now on the cancer.gov, the National Cancer Institute website, as of the latter part of January 2016, they have included some of these case report citations and many more details about how cannabis and cannabinoids can help in cancer.

I was proud to have been a part of the editorial advosory board, to put those revisions in. And I’m hoping that as we gain this knowledge, we will also gain the courage to see where it leads us.

See? Accredited doctor, government worker, official website. Cannabis helps kill cancer and treat the pain and suffering patients go through. How simple is that?

Do you have to defend your fight for medical or recreational freedom of choice to your family or friends? What has finally helped some of them change their beliefs? Share with us on Facebook, Twitter, or in the comments below.

Here’s What The Legal Green Scene Will Look Like In Nevada

Watch: This Is Why Gary Johnson Needs To Be President

gary johnson foxnews cannabis hero Watch: This Is Why Gary Johnson Needs To Be President

Presidential candidate Gary Johnson might only have 10 percent of the votes, according to the Commission on Presidential Debates, but that didn’t stop him from visiting Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace to spread information on his platform. The Libertarian nominee voiced his concerns on everything from ISIS to foreign trade. When the topic of cannabis arose, Johnson held firm to his political beliefs and has never once wavered on his views.

Gary Johnson: The underdog

Fox News in known for being brutally pro-republican, and basically, anti-every-other-party. That didn’t stop Libertarian Presidential Nominee Gary Johnson from facing off against one of Fox’s toughest anchors, Chris Wallace.

As the current polls stand, Johnson may not get the chance to even participate in the Presidential Debates come September 26. However, the candidate remains hopeful that circumstances will change and opportunities will arise that would allow him to participate.

If elected, Johnson would be the first president from a third party to win since 1864, when good old Honest Abe was ushered into office.

We’re optimistic we’re going to actually get into the debates. We’re spending money right now in many states, and in five states right now we’re at 16 percent. So I’m just really optimistic…The object is to win outright.

Going out with a bang

Wallace saved the best question for last, prodding Johnson about his pro-cannabis stance and years spent as CEO of Cannabis Sativa, a corporation that works to help the legalized cannabis market.

Until January, you were the CEO of something called Cannabis Sativa, which is, I guess I pronounced that correctly, it’s a marijuana marketing company. Question: of all the things in the world you could be involved with, why sell pot?

Johnson takes a breath and delivers one of his most well-thought-out answers to date.

In this case, marijuana products, which directly compete with legal prescription drugs on the medical front, don’t kill anybody. Not one documented death and yet these drugs, marijuana, cannabis, does compete, does provide that relief.

So, it seems to me that there needs to be research and development in this area, that can’t currently happen because marijuana is listed as a class one narcotic. As President of the United States, I would delist marijuana as a class one narcotic. This is going to be an issue that is left up to the states, just like alcohol.

Then, on the recreational side of this, Chris, I have always believed that legalizing marijuana will lead to less overall substance abuse because it’s so much safer than everything else that’s out there, starting with alcohol.

Do you think Gary Johnson could win the presidency? Let us know on Facebook, Twitter or in the comments below.

Why Skateboarding At The Olympics Will Be Dope

olympics skateboarding hero Why Skateboarding At The Olympics Will Be Dope

Skateboarding has long been a sport embraced by what society has deemed to be the “counter culture”. Skateboarders are generally not your typically clean-cut, muscle-bound, overachiever types like most Olympians tend to be. But don’t be misled by their outward presentation. These athletes are among the most detail oriented and hard working you’ll find. They also tend to like cannabis.

Half pipe’s and halved pipes

The 2020 summer Olympics hosted in Tokyo will introduce skateboarding to the event list. No longer will passengers of the wheeled board be banished to the X Games for international recognition. They will be showcased on the world’s largest stage – the Olympic half-pipe.

According to Lee Dainton, rider on the TV show Dirty Sanchez, many skateboarders are regular cannabis users. Though the Olympic committee just ratified bylaws that increased cannabinoid testing levels to 150 nanograms, many of these skaters will still struggle to meet the regulations.

There are going to be a lot of people who will have to clean up their acts,” Lee said. A lot of them partake in smoking marijuana. The thing is, if you smoke weed and you drink – that is not like taking steroids. They are of no interest to skateboarders. They would not be performance enhancing. – Dainton

Skateboarding: Sport, art, hobby?

Skin Phillips, a photographer and well-respected skate-community member, gave some insight into whether or not he believed skateboarding was a sport – a topic of controversy. Phillips, believes a lot of people are going to be interested in seeing skateboarding at the Olympics, but admitted, “ I think it is closer to an art.”

Adding to the conversation about how riders will approach the Olympics and its cannabis testing policies, Philips said,

It would not be rocket science to find out who is smoking. I don’t think they would care either way if they did get caught. Imagine if they got caught and chucked out of the Olympics? They would put it on their resume!

Grow up for the Gold

With little insight from these renowned skaters, it is easy to tell that professional skateboarders might have a hard time adjusting to the Olympic regulations. According to Philips, they may even find the testing to be amusing.

I have confidence that Olympic skateboarders will successfully overcome the testing, and put on a great show in 2020. I am sure that each member of the national skateboarding teams will understand that they have an opportunity to represent their country—an opportunity that trumps marijuana use for those 2 weeks.

Only time will tell…

Until then, what you think about skateboarding and weed use in the Olympics? Tell us on Facebook, Twitter or in the comments below.

Kyle Kushman: Legalization Shouldn’t Mean Commercialization

kyle kushman interview hero Kyle Kushman: Legalization Shouldnt Mean Commercialization

As we close in on the upcoming State of Marijuana, arguably the most impactful cannabis event of the year, we’re talking to some of the most influential personalities in the cannabis community. Adam Orenstein, whom many of you may better know by his pen name, Kyle Kushman, has earned awards for his cultivation, specialized in organic and veganic techniques. In his time, he’s won Cannabis Cups, invented famous strains like Strawberry Cough, among many other achievements. Here’s what the author, activist, and educator had to say.

Meet Kyle Kushman

HERB:

I know you get referred to a lot by your pen name, but which do you prefer? Adam or Kyle?

KK:

You know, it’s funny. I think you are the first person to ever ask me that for an interview. Thank you. Honestly, I respond to both now, even on my podcasts. They’re both me.

The difference between legal and commercial

1 kyle kushman interview sunglasses Kyle Kushman: Legalization Shouldnt Mean Commercialization
HERB:
What do you want to convey about the upcoming vote on legalization this November?

KK:

The main thing that I want to talk about is it’s a simple fact that this is not legalization. This is commercialization. How can it be legalization when we are mandating … people open football field size warehouses and make tens of millions of dollars in profit? In fact, that’s their only reason for being. But if I grow more than X number of plants you’re going to throw me in jail?

That’s not legalization. The absolute truth of the matter is that personal cannabis needs to not be regulated.

I know this is an extremely hard pill to swallow. If I want to spray poison on my tomatoes to kill the bugs and I want to eat those tomatoes I’m allowed to do that. If I want to go and buy an ounce every day from the club and smoke it everyday I can do that. But why can’t I grow 20 pounds of weed in my basement and put it in my freezer and not have to worry about it for the next 3 years? How is that harmful to anybody’s economic system? How is that harmful to the public?

It’s not. It’s blowback and it’s a symptom of the fact that recreational drug users are the last segment of society that it’s legal to [oppress and limit the freedoms of].

Civil rights & big business

HERB:

Do you think that Proposition 64 isn’t going far enough? A lot of people agree with that sentiment. Where do you stand?  Does it do enough to protect the little guys?

KK:

Unfortunately, I don’t believe there is any way to save the mom and pop farmers. I’m not talking about economics here. I’m talking about personal rights and civil rights. The day that somebody invented the refrigerator nobody was out picketing saying ‘nobody buy refrigerators the icemen will all go out of business!’ It was just f*cking evolution. There are thousands of human beings in America that don’t grow it because they’re sick or even smoke marijuana. They grow it because they know someone who’s sick. They grow it to help someone in their family.

So now you’re going to tell me that because there’s some factory down the street growing some product, that I can no longer derive than nutrition that I derive in my soul from helping my family? I have to go out and spend money that I have to earn when I could help my family all by myself? That’s not even close to legalization. That is straight-up giving in to commercialization.

There’s definitely some blowback from legalization by people don’t want it legalized but it’s also mixed in there with just plain ignorant people that are not from the culture that are trying to make laws and don’t know any better. Then you throw in the fact that there’s so much money involved it’s like the Dotcom movement. So sure there will be dark Forces at play.

I want to say very clear that I am not against the commercialization of marijuana at all. I am 100% for it, in all of its forms. Pharmaceutical, recreational, medicinal and of course manufacturing of innumerous products are all valid. I’m just following my heart. I’m always going to be here for the individual farmer. There will be millions of individual farmers coming online with [the eventual] Federal legalization and I want to be there for them one garden at a time.

Losing an aspect of the heritage

HERB:

Yeah, I can agree that as a society we have lost a lot of what humanity took thousands of years to develop as far as self-sufficiency…

KK:

Oh my God you just brought up a very important point! This plant has been carried around for thousands of years by humans who revered it, who honor it and pass it down… generation to generation… on down the line. Now the only people that are going to to be legally allowed to grow enough to breed and research it are people who are going to grow it for millions of dollars. Guys like me who just want to grow it for the love of it are going to still be treated like criminals?

The evolution of this plant has been in the hands of people who Revere it for thousands of years and now the evolution of this plant is getting turned over to corporate greed. That’s what I’m afraid of; that’s what I fear.

Embracing the future

HERB:

That’s a fine balance between support and detraction. But in the end, you want people to vote for AUMA. You feel that it is the best course of action for the community at the moment?

KK:

I am totally for AUMA. I am voting for it.  I have a dream and that is that marijuana will be the first product in human society not to be completely co-opted by corporations. We are community, almost a religion. We’re a culture. We’re not counterculture anymore, I believe we’re Middle America.

So my dream is that the legalization of cannabis is the beginning of the end of the Drug War and I believe that it is a step towards World Peace.

Cannabis Moms Club: New Web Series Everyone Is Talking About

cannamoms whohaha elizabeth hero 1 Cannabis Moms Club: New Web Series Everyone Is Talking About

For years, wine has been a lifesaver for mothers. In fact, some moms would probably lose their shit if they didn’t get at least one glass a day. However, cannabis mommas prefer to toke at their Tupperware parties. In the new web series Cannabis Moms Club, a group of hilarious moms unintentionally reveal their love for cannabis. From jewelry parties to brownie parties, these ladies will burn one at any occasion. It’s time to toke a load off and meet the “unreal” housewives.

Cannabis Moms Club

Elizabeth Banks’ comedy platform, WhoHaHa, launched a new series on Monday about working moms who just so happen to smoke a little weed. Introducing Cannabis Moms Club is Quiet Duke, a female full-service creative production company.

Creators of the show are Kai Collins and Deena Adar, who met at an improv class at The Groundings in 2007. The two came up with the idea for the series while after seeing a post in a mommy group online. The post was a picture of a mom holding up a glass of wine with the caption, “It’s just been one of those days, are you with me mommas?”

Indeed, the post attracted a lot of positive attention from fellow moms. In fact, they encouraged her to “get her drink on”. So Adar figured, why not see how they react to a joint?

I was like wow, I wonder what would happen if we had a joint in our hand and did the same thing. Would the support from the moms be the same? We kind of wanted to explore these double standards using marijuana as the truth bearer.

Our series was really designed to create an authentic dialogue between moms and friends about how they actually feel about their kids, spouses and careers.

WhoHaHa: a platform promoting women in comedy

All it took was two days to shoot five episodes in a single location. The comedy duo used actors and crew members that they’ve previously worked with before. During post-production, they decided to reach out to WhoHaHa.

Initially, we intended to release the series on 4/20 to tie in with marijuana aspect. But we did a lot of research with regards to mommy bloggers and people blogging about cannabis. We also looked at online channels that have promoted women in comedy, and that’s how we came across WhoHaha.

Without delay, the two attempted to contact WhoHaHa but could not find a phone number. Instead, they filled out a basic “contact us” form. Shortly after, they got the call. The comedic duo was ecstatic to work with Banks, who is one of their comedy idols.

It’s an exciting time to be a woman in comedy, which I don’t think anyone’s ever said before. What WhoHaha has done is give a platform to women who have been trying to get their videos out there. And Elizabeth’s got such an amazing sense of comedic sensibility, that you know when you go to the site you’re going to see good content.

We knew that there was something missing in the world that helped support females in this particular part of this industry. After our launch, there was just a flood of incoming emails. The Cannabis Moms Club ladies reached out, we quickly got on the phone with them, loved the concept and said let’s go for it. It was a great fit, and great timing for our first show to launch.

Ultimately, if pot-smoking moms baking, painting, and dancing sound hilarious to you, you need to check out the series. Dailymotion.com will host the series in its player, and WhoHaHa is currently promoting it on their site.

Are you in love with the new series Cannabis Moms Club? Can you relate to these mommas? Let us know on Facebook, Twitter, or in the comments below. We would love to hear from you.

Heartbreak As Colorado Teen Behind “Jack’s Law” Dies

Video Of Woman Blowing Smoke Into Toddler’s Face Is The Worst

ezgif.com optimize 4 Video Of Woman Blowing Smoke Into Toddlers Face Is The Worst

As socially responsible cannabis users, we face a lot of scrutiny. There a lot of false stigmas out there we have to strive every day to break down. But with anything, from football fans to politicians, one bad apple identified as an example of the whole screws it for the rest of us. Worse, it never fails that those idiots end up with their antics blasted across the internet. Take for instance the behavior of these dumbasses in the video below.

Bad parents

In a video that instantly went viral, until Facebook took it down, four adults pass around what looks like a joint. No big deal, except they partake with a child in the immediate vicinity. As if hot boxing wasn’t a bad enough idea, these losers actually blow the smoke directly in the young kid’s face! Outrageous!

I’ve heard of bad parenting choices with giving a kid Benadryl to make them mellow. I’ve seen pictures of toddlers getting ahold of beers. None of those things are acceptable, and neither is this. They even appear to stick the joint in the kid’s mouth.

Unfortunately, you can’t even say that we don’t know if it was cannabis. At the point one adult blows smoke in the kid’s face, the kid backs away and the adults laugh.

No more getting high?

He’s all blazing it.

The power of peer pressure

If we want to avoid the widespread backlash of being lumped in with the likes of these losers, we need to be proactive. Peer pressure works both ways.

As cannabis lovers and activists, we have to exhibit some self-policing. Otherwise, society will continue to think that we need the mandatory kind. Keep the dumbasses from giving the rest of us a bad name. Or at least try.

This is not what we mean when we talk about children being helped with medical cannabis. This is abuse. Apparently filmed in Idaho on a reservation, the two women in the video have been arrested and face charges of child endangerment, but names and mugshots have been withheld. The two men featured have yet to be arrested as of this report.

Outraged? Ashamed? Do you think this only serves to encourage Idaho to continue denying cannabis legalization? Tell us on social media or in the comments below.

Is This The Best Way To Escape From A Police Car?

escape from the police hero Is This The Best Way To Escape From A Police Car?

Just to put it out there before I begin, I don’t advocate violence against police, or by police. Go up against a gun with a gun, with or without a badge, and you may end up dead. That being said, those of us in the cannabis community have seen our share of wrongful or immoral arrests. And the idea of escaping that persecution, of getting out of the trap of the War on Drugs, is a pleasurable idea. Watch this guy do just that.

The situation

This video takes place in a Jonesboro Police department cruiser. Logan Young, the 19-year-old in the back seat, had been picked up at the Mall at Turtle Creek after someone called to report an intoxicated person. Whether he was drunk or high, or just crazy, I don’t know.

Officer Justin Thompson began driving Young back to the station when Young was able to slide one cuff off his wrist. He apparently felt betrayed by the Officer Thompson after admitting something to him.

I trusted you, and you lied to me.

An ominous conversation

Young inches closer to the Officer driving, and begins to rant about betrayal, then has a moment of clarity, where he says:

Maybe I should just shut up.

Officer Thompson replies “Yep.” But then it gets ugly. Fast. Young leans in and says,

You might want to back up. What are you gonna do, if I kill you right now, and hop out of this car…

Officer Thompson, probably used to idle threats, replies lightly,

You can try.

Young smirks knowingly, mocking him,

You think I don’t know how to stop you? Look at this. I broke free.

Then SHTF

Young starts using the cuff and then his feet to bang against the protective pane. Officer Thompson calls it in, letting Control know the subject is out of the cuffs. To try to get to the station faster, he flips on his siren and you can hear the cruiser accelerate.

Meanwhile, Young reaches in his pants for a lighter and tries to set the cruiser on fire. At that moment, the squeal of tires pierces the air and the car crashes. Leaning in the perfect position, Young simply flies up and goes right out the back window.

The aftermath

Originally charged with Public Intoxication and Minor in Possession, Young was treated at a hospital and sent to the Detention Center with additional charges of Escape 3rd Degree and Fleeing on Foot.

He ran after the wreck but civilians and authorities followed and he didn’t make it for very long. Meanwhile, the officer also went to another hospital for injuries from the wreck.

When you watch this, you have to wonder, in the back of your mind: Was this guy just crazy, or a crazy genius? Did the plan for the car to wreck, or was he planning to burn his way out? Was the lighter just a ploy to trick the officer into driving recklessly? This is one of those escapes that should be in an action movie.

What do you think? Mad genius or just mad? Share your thoughts on social media or in the comments below.

With fall approaching fast, there are a limited number of days left for soaking up some rays on the beach. With a recent ad for a new product from KFC, these guys don’t want to just protect you from the sun, they want you to smell like the colonel’s secret recipe! The craziest part about this story is that fact that they gave away over 3000 bottles of the SPF 30 KFC sunscreen in the first 2 hours of online sales. Talk about a hot product.

Effective advertising?

The marketing gimmick has received enough coverage to probably boost the sales of KFC’s famous chicken. Because once you smell like some of the most legendary chicken on earth, the chances that you buy some after the beach will definitely be increased.

The ad features George Hamilton with his amazing suntan and bravado. KFC spokesperson Kasey Mathes says,

We think it smells amazing.

And so far, the customer feedback has been mostly positive. Attempting to increase sales through a giveaway like this is admirable. And hopefully, many more people will be “living the extra crispy lifestyle.”

Check out the ad below and make sure to let us know if you are a fan of KFC’s famous recipe chicken and their fresh new take on advertising.

How To Make The Best Medical Cannabis Oil

Best Medical Cannabis hero How To Make The Best Medical Cannabis Oil

Cannabis oil can cost you a pretty penny in a dispensary. Even then, you may not have access to exactly what you want. So, why not just make it yourself? Turns out, making your own medicine is easier than you might think. Here’s how to make the best medical cannabis oil.

What is medical cannabis oil?

Cannabis oil is a highly concentrated cannabis extract. This extract is the famed cannabis oil which many patients have found successful in treating cancer, epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, and many other difficult to treat medical conditions.

You can also find this oil under the names Rick Simpson Oil (RSO), Black Oil, and Phoenix TearsMedical cannabis oil is often consumed via a syringe applicator or through self-filled cannabis capsules.

Beginning with the right strains

Your cannabis oil is that it is only as good as the products used to create it. Each individual person and every medical condition best responds to different types of cannabis. For example, strains high in both THC and CBD are thought to work well in cancer treatment. Seizure disorders, however, respond better to high CBD, low THC strains.

Opting for organic cannabis is highly recommended. Those with compromised immune systems or autoimmune diseases may have difficult reactions to any residual pesticide, fertilizer, or insecticide that may still be present in your herb. Organic cannabis also tends to be higher in terpenes.

Terpenes are the flavor and aroma molecules found in plants. Like cannabinoids, terpenes also have a variety of health benefits. Ideally, starting with high-quality cannabis material increases the amount of possible cannabinoids and terpenes in your oil.

The goal is to make a product that is extremely rich and abundant with healing compounds. Since we do not yet know what ratios or terpenes are best for various medical conditions, the easiest thing to do is try to make a product that contains a wide diversity of phytochemicals.

Materials

To get started, you’re going to need a few things.

  • One ounce of high-quality medical cannabis or 2 to 3 ounces of trim. You can also throw in small stems and fan leaves for good measure
  • Everclear Alcohol
  • Double boiler or rice cooker
  • 1 medium glass mixing bowl
  • Cheesecloth or clean nylon stocking
  • Large wooden spoon
  • Silicone spatula
  • 2-quart mixing cup or container (to catch liquid)
  • Sterile oral syringes
  • Cooking thermometer
  • Fans or ventilation (if indoors)
  • Parchment paper

Step 1: Prep workspace

Best Medical Cannabis3 How To Make The Best Medical Cannabis Oil

Making cannabis oil can be a little tricky. Not only are you making an oil that you want to be as safe and nutrient-dense as possible, but you’re applying high heat to a flammable substance. To play it safe, make sure your workspace is very clear and clean.

Wipe down countertops with water or isopropyl alcohol and remove anything that could possibly get in your way. In preparation for the worst possible scenario, you will also want to make sure that you have a fire extinguisher within reach.

Open all windows and use a household fan to make sure the air is well ventilated. This is extremely important for safety while you make your extraction. The primary danger of heating this extraction is an explosion, so you may also want to do this outside if you can. Outdoors, there is less buildup of combustible off gasses that can cause trouble.

You may also want to have plenty of hot pads and some non-latex gloves handy. These will help protect you from any burns from splashback. Some people like to wear a safety odor respiratory mask while working with the oil. Wearing glasses or safety goggles will also help protect your eyes from the vapor.

Step 2: Solvent extraction

Unlike other recipes for cannabis oil, using high-proof alcohol as a solvent eliminates any potential carcinogens. The alcohol will also completely burn off in the cooking process. This leaves you with nothing but pure, extremely concentrated cannabis oil as an end result. Here’s how you extract with your solvent:

  • Add your cannabis to your glass bowl
  • Pour your alcohol into the bowl, just enough to cover the herb
  • Stir the cannabis with your wooden spoon continuously for a couple of minutes. This mixes the cannabinoids with the alcohol

Step 3: Strain and second soak

Next, you’ll need to strain out the plant material from the solvent. Once this plant material is strained out, you’ll run through the whole solvent extraction process a second time to get the most from your cannabis.

  • Cover your 2-quart measuring cup or extra container with cheesecloth or a clean nylon stocking. You will be pouring the cannabis over the top to strain the plant materials from the alcohol, so make sure you can easily grab and bundle up your strained material
  • Pour your cannabis mixture over your cheesecloth into the second container
  • Gather up the cheesecloth or nylon and squeeze out the remaining liquid

The dark green liquid is now a mixture of alcohol and extracted cannabis resin. Now, it’s time for the second soak. The first soak removes the majority of the cannabinoids, the second soak gets the rest.

  • Take your strained plant material and empty it back into your glass mixing bowl
  • Pour more Everclear over the top until it is fully submerged
  • Stir continuously with your wooden spoon for a couple of minutes
  • Repeat the straining process and empty your second batch of alcohol into your runoff container

Step 4: Burning off the solvent

Now that you’ve made a basic alcohol extraction, it’s time to separate the cannabis resin from the solvent. You do this with heat. Remember, safety is key here. Make sure that you have as much air circulation and ventilation as possible to avoid any mishaps. You want all of the fumes to head outside.

If you’re indoors, keep your fan on your cooking medium and direct off gasses toward an open window or door. The last thing you want is an explosion in your kitchen.

There are two ways to do burn off your solvent, either with a rice cooker or a stovetop and double boiler.

Rice cooker

Opting for a rice cooker is nice because it is portable, meaning that you can take it outside if you’re concerned about safety.

Before you make oil with a rice cooker, you may want to test to see how hot your cooker gets beforehand. You can do this by adding in some water prior to cooking your oil and bringing it to a boil in the cooker.

Use your thermometer to test the temperature of the water. Touch the thermometer to the bottom surface, so you know exactly how hot it will get.

  • Fill the rice cooker 3/4ths full with the canna-alcohol (you can add in more liquid later as the levels drop with cooking)
  • Turn your rice cooker on, and LEAVE THE LID OPEN.  You can gently drape some cheesecloth over the rice cooker to keep any dust out of the oil. Make sure the cloth is not touching the oil (see video below)
  • Use the White Rice setting and heat your liquid on high and allow the solvent to boil down
  • Keep an eye on your oil throughout the cooking process
  • Remove the rice cooker pot from the machine when the oil becomes thick and dark green. Remember to use your oven mitts
  • Stir the liquid and watch the bubbles. When the amount of bubbles rising to the top decreases substantially, you’re ready to remove the oil
  • Use your silicone spatula to remove the cannabis oil from the pot.
  • Using a toothpick, gently scrape off the cannabis oil onto some parchment paper

Double boiler

Follow the same safety tips as above before beginning to heat your extraction with a double boiler.

  • Fill the bottom of your double boiler with water
  • Pour canna-alcohol into the top pan
  • Turn your burner on high and wait for your top pot to boil
  • Once the liquid bubbles, immediately turn off your burner. The boiling water will do the rest
  • Let the mixture in the top pan bubble for 15 to 20 minutes. You can turn the burner back on if you stop getting bubbles
  • Once the oil is nice and thick, it is complete. You can remove it from the pan and scrape it out onto parchment paper when it cools

Step 5: Fill your syringes

When the oil has cooled, you can suck up your cannabis medicine into your syringe for proper dosing. You can also use a syringe to fill new, empty pill capsules to make your own cannabis pills.

Watch the video below before making the best medical cannabis oil

Cannabis oil is an extremely potent medicine. So potent that patients turn to the extract for relief from everything from Crohn’s to pediatric epilepsy to cancer. Making your own cannabis oil is not hard, but you do have to be mindful of vapor off gas. Without proper ventilation, this flammable vapor can ignite.

Once you have proper airflow, making cannabis oil is a very simple and rewarding way to get high-quality medicine.

Are These The Most Dangerous LEGAL Synthetic Drugs Available?

7 Most Common Myths Surrounding THC

The One Thing Every Cannabis Entrepreneur Must Do

every cannabis entrepreneur hero The One Thing Every Cannabis Entrepreneur Must Do

Activism. It’s absolutely mandatory for Cannabis entrepreneurs. Without the work of activists and advocates who have driven the grassroots fight for Cannabis freedom, there would not be a legal Cannabis industry today. Period. So pay your respects, but also step up and do your part. If you’re a cannabis entrepreneur and you have not contributed to the activism required to free the plant, then you don’t deserve to profit from the boom. That’s just my opinion. But I’m willing to bet a lot of OG’s and industry leaders who have risked their freedom and well-being for decades would agree with me.

The legal cannabis industry is a gateway revolution

1 every cannabis entrepreneur activist The One Thing Every Cannabis Entrepreneur Must Do

It will create subsequent revolutions. It will transform medicine, agriculture, government, business and much more. This is what makes the industry so incredibly exciting. $50 Billion dollars, a change of federal law, the transition from black to legal market, a renewed interest in plants, a new type of industry where diversity and gender equality are established up front.

We do not know how these paradigm shifts will play out years from now, but there is no doubt that they will set off many other reactions that nobody can fully anticipate.

If you’re not ready to commit to Cannabis activism, you should seriously consider whether or not Cannabis entrepreneurship (or investment) is right for you. A commitment to activism demonstrates a commitment to Cannabis culture and an interest in the industry that extends beyond financial gain.

To be clear, there’s nothing wrong with seeking financial gain. However, if you really want to achieve the highest level of success in Cannabis business, consider this: most of the top people are not primarily motivated by money.

Now this is speculation, but my gut tells me that the people who have been running this industry for the past few decades care about personal freedoms and a human being’s right to enhance his own consciousness or to grow a plant of her choosing. They are in this for the long haul.

Money likely is not the #1 thing that drives them to do the work they do. If you want relationships with the power players in this industry, the best of the best, you better have proof that you’re down for the cause.

Understanding ‘The Cause’

Cannabis is a plant. It has countless benefits. Humans —not just Americans— should be free to grow a plant. Millions of lives have been unjustly ruined by Cannabis prohibition. A disproportionately large segment of that group is young men of color who are victims of a system created to serve racist, evil agendas.

Who will advocate on behalf of the people with criminal records and limited options to make an honest living? Or those still in jail? Who will provide the voice lobbying on behalf of those disadvantaged people? How will those people who have lost their liberties be made whole?

What about all the sick people who are being prevented access to safe, natural medicine? How come the government makes it so difficult to research this plant’s medical properties? How can we take advantage of this plant to make advances in public health?

When you consider chronic pain, cancer, Alzheimer’s, epilepsy, ADHD, HIV, and PTSD, there are millions of people in America that can benefit from whole-plant Cannabis-based medicine. Who is going to advocate and lobby on behalf of these sick people?

Change comes from the bottom up

3 every cannabis entrepreneur crowd The One Thing Every Cannabis Entrepreneur Must Do

How do laws get changed in your state? By ballot initiative or referendum? What legislation has been proposed in your state? Have you voiced your opinions to your elected officials? Is there a local organization educating politicians about Cannabis? Who is helping patients in your community? What are the attitudes of local health care providers?

Community boards, city councils, state legislatures, congress members, union leaders and, of course, donors. These are just some of the characters that play a role in political reform. Being a productive Cannabis citizen includes being a productive citizen.

For laws to change AND BE WRITTEN IN A WAY THAT PROTECT CANNABIS VALUES, passionate, educated people must engage in the political process. Organizations like Marijuana Policy Project, Students for Sensible Drug Policy, Americans for Safe Access, and Drug Policy Alliance are leading the charge on a national level.

Get familiar with the work they’re doing and how you can contribute. And, of course, vote!

Once you’re ready to put your activist pants on, understand that entrepreneurship in Cannabis is unlike any other industry.

11 Ways The Cannabis Industry Is Unlike Any Other

ways cannabis industry unlike others hero 11 Ways The Cannabis Industry Is Unlike Any Other

The end of Cannabis prohibition represents a unique opportunity for entrepreneurs. It’s the biggest thing since the birth of dot com. The Cannabis industry already generates more than $50 Billion dollars annually in the U.S. if you include the black market. It’s no surprise that entrepreneurs and investors are rushing into this space with green on their minds.

Cannabis has been illegal for almost half a century

Many compare the re-legalization of Cannabis to the end of alcohol prohibition. However, that comparison is not totally valid. Alcohol was legal just a few years prior to the failed prohibition experiment.

Cannabis is different. It hasn’t been legal for almost a century. Besides, alcohol is truly a vice product. Cannabis is significantly more versatile. In fact, I believe that Cannabis medicine, “adult-use” or “recreational” cannabis and industrial Hemp represent completely different industries, and should be regulated separately.

An industry unlike any other

If you’re thinking about entering the industry, be prepared, and understand that it’s unlike any other industry.

  1. Cannabis is unique.
  2. A commodity with multi-billion dollar demand is considered federally illegal, yet is legal in half of the United States. Each state’s legal market has completely different regulations and rules. As of this writing, there are 25 U.S. states in which Cannabis is legal. Each one has unique regulatory environments, market dynamics, and players.
  3. There is direct and significant competition with the black market.
  4. Consumers are vastly under-informed, overly forgiving and used to purchasing goods illegally.
  5. Decades of anti-Cannabis propaganda must be undone. There is a very real stigma against Cannabis and those who use it. Imagine if you grew up being told the internet or smartphones were evil or dangerous. Or that coffee would ruin your life and you shouldn’t drink it.
  6. Business owners and investors are not able to access banking resources. Millions of dollars in transactions —paying taxes, salaries, business expenses— happen in cash.
  7. The majority of people who run this industry are Cannabis enthusiasts. While this is mostly fun, as several business meetings include, or rather necessitate consumption, it also presents certain challenges. But mostly, it’s just fun.
  8. B2B Technology and infrastructure that other industries have enjoyed over the past few decades are just now being developed and made available in Cannabis
  9. It is illegal and unnecessarily difficult to advertise the product around which the industry revolves. Facebook, Google, TV, and many other marketing channels do not allow the advertisement of a federally illegal narcotic.
  10. Industrial Hemp: with over 20,000 documented uses, the non-psychoactive variety of Cannabis has the potential to significantly disrupt the food, energy, materials, and clothing industries.
  11. Section 280E of the federal tax code severely limits the expenses businesses that produce, process, or sell Cannabis are able to write off. This creates an environment in which businesses pay an effective tax rate of 70% or higher. That rate is absolutely unheard of in other industries.
  12. “No deduction or credit shall be allowed for any amount paid or incurred during the taxable year in carrying on any trade or business if such trade or business (or the activities which comprise such trade or business) consists of trafficking in controlled substances (within the meaning of schedule I and II of the Controlled Substances Act) which is prohibited by Federal law or the law of any State in which such trade or business is conducted”.
  13. Speaking of laws, the laws and regulations are unpredictable and ever changing. Uncertainty is constant.

Cannabis is not a new industry, but legal Cannabis is in its infancy

Anyone who says they have a lens into the future is more likely than not to be wrong. We’re still in the very early stages of a multi-billion dollar global industry being set up. This industry does not even have access to banking yet! Producers and processors in Colorado, Washington, Oregon, etc are paying their taxes in straight cash, homie.

Let’s be clear, Cannabis is not a new industry, but legal Cannabis is in its infancy. The black market for Cannabis is a multi-billion dollar global industry. There are established players, values, “corporate” culture, relationship dynamics, history and more.

There are people who have been risking their freedom for decades in Cannabis business. State by state there are transitions from black to gray to regulated legal markets. Brand new actors are entering this space every day.

Given the circumstances, it’s especially important in Cannabis to know who you’re dealing with. The reality of any rapidly growing industry is that it will attract opportunistic people who are interested in making money. You will encounter people who are willing to lie, cheat, and steal their way to wealth.

Be extra careful about who you work with and make sure you have an experienced lawyer whom you trust. Partner with those whose values are aligned with yours and take a long-term approach on how you want to impact this industry.

What The Green Scene Will Look Like In California

Hillary Clinton Confesses Bill Smokes The Pot & Loves Etch-A-Sketch

Lips Synced Perfectly newhero Hillary Clinton Confesses Bill Smokes The Pot & Loves Etch A Sketch

The Democratic National Convention is a time when the political party comes together to express their views, beliefs, and interests in the upcoming election. While they discuss important topics like war, terror, and drug reform, their promises sometimes sound like a bunch of hot air. Bad Lip Service is the hilarious creator of this video, showing what most of us actually hear when politicians speak. Check out the video below.

Hillary and the etch-a-sketch

While the video contains a ton of gut-busting, knee-slapping laughs, the absolute epitome of this video takes place as two minutes and five seconds. Hillary Clinton takes the time to discuss cannabis and what people who smoke “the pot” like to do.

Sometimes, people that like to smoke the pot use an etch-a-sketch. Uh, as you know, I’m tied to one of those people.

As Hillary looks lovingly over at her husband, and former president, Bill Clinton, he lets out a jovial chuckle, taking accountability for being that etch-a-sketch loving person.

Bill’s response

Bad Lip Sync wasn’t going to miss the opportunity for Bill to respond to his wife’s allegations. Of course, the comeback is even funnier than Hillary’s statement.

See, I’m wearing my three hemp bracelets and just rappin’ at you. Fun times, right? Kind of like the other day I threw a rock at a beaver’s nest and, and…I am so buzzed. Oh my gosh, ya’ll I have to go back home and see the kitty.

Oh, Bill, what a hilarious way with words you have.

Of course, none of these statements are factual, but it does go to show what can be done with the power of computers and enough time to waste. The entire video is full of popular Democrats and their altered, much funnier, words.

Even President Obama and The First Lady make a few appearances. While you might not learn anything from this short video, it’s definitely worth a view.

What was your favorite fact statement? Let us know on social media or in the comments below.

This past Saturday, Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz met at UFC 202 for their long awaited rematch. McGregor met expectations with a spectacle of trash talking and in the ring antics. Though Diaz fought hard for five rounds, McGregor ultimately beat him on points. Through a swollen mouth, Diaz puffed on a vaporizer full of cannabidiol. His healing began immediately.

CBD is stronger than McGregor?

Diaz apparently is tuned into the healing powers of CBD and isn’t afraid to show it. In his post-UFC 202 interview, he proudly puffed on a vape pen full of cannabidiol (CBD). CBD is the non-psychoactive cannabinoid abundantly produced by the cannabis plant.

Research has shown that CBD is an excellent anti-inflammatory and helps people recover from physical stresses. Many NFL athletes are using CBD to help them heal from the mental and physical stresses of their jobs. UFC fighters seem to be taking a liking to CBD as well.

What exactly are you smoking?

As Diaz sat in front of cameras and reporters, he proudly took pulls from his vape pen. His openness about using a cannabis product on camera sparked a few questions from curious reporters.

To be clear, Nate, what exactly are you smoking? – Unknown reporter

This is TRU, the TRU (Cannabis) company. This is CBD it helps with the healing process and inflammation, stuff like that. You want to get these before and after the fight to make your life a better place. CBD oil! – Nate Diaz

The future of healing

It is promising to see athletes, who are at the top of their game, coming out in support for alternative medicines. CBD is non-addictive, non-toxic, and non-psychoactive. With anti-inflammatory properties as well as valuable vitamins and minerals, CBD seems like an awesome alternative to addictive painkillers.

Don’t just take my word for it, watch Diaz’ enjoy the healing powers of CBD in the video below.

Lovelution: Transcending Limitations Through Drugs & Music

1 2 Lovelution: Transcending Limitations Through Drugs & Music

We live in a world that tries to push us away from experiencing love and the freedom of our own consciousness. Our western culture has been stuck in a matrix where many of us have functioned within the status quo – stuck inside our own comfort zone. We often shy away from doing things because we know they would push us outside of our safe space.

If we always stay inside our comfort zone, we will never evolve

2 2 Lovelution: Transcending Limitations Through Drugs & Music

Fortunately, there seems to be a part of us that wishes to experience that which is beyond our comfort zone: a place within us calling out to experience more than what we have been given by our culture. This call asks us to do the things we have yearned for since the day we were born.

So, why aren’t all of us answering the call? Have we blamed our family, our society, or our government for holding us back?

Really, there could be infinite reasons why we don’t step outside our comfort zone. But, what if there was only one thing truly holding each of us back?

In fact, there is only one thing: it’s you, it’s me. It’s us. We are the sole reason we don’t get to see beyond our comfort zone. We limit ourselves with our beliefs. The way we feel, react to, or see anything is the result of our own doing. And, we have the choice to create the life we wish to live.

If we can see limiting beliefs and doubt as obstacles to overcome, then we can step into our true power. We can grow inside and out to move ever closer to our dreams. However, limiting beliefs – which are often built up over months, years, or even lifetimes – aren’t the easiest thing to overcome.

So, what tools are available for us to transcend these limitations?

The Lovelution Collective

3 2 Lovelution: Transcending Limitations Through Drugs & Music

If we look into history, we find that the use of drugs, music and love are what moved the masses most notably. For millennia, our ancestors have used what are known as plant medicines to heal, see the invisible, and create a better world for all.

The use of plants like marijuana, psilocybin mushrooms, and many others are still used today to open people’s hearts and bring them into alternate states of awareness and insight.

The hippie movement of peace and love also used substances like marijuana, ecstasy, and LSD to bring people together with a common cause.

Similarly to plant medicine, music is a powerful tool for personal and cultural transformation. We can all relate to feeling joy and ecstasy from listening to our favourite sounds. When we fully embrace music, we can achieve states of consciousness that are similar to that of drugs.

Lovelution is a collective that can attest to the magic music is able to create. This group of visionaries, artists, and entrepreneurs facilitate space for people to step through limitations and liberate themselves through shamanic sound therapy and the world’s grooviest dance music.

Many who have attended a Lovelution party express having psychedelic visions and insights during the shamanic sound therapy. They also speak of the most expressive, loving and liberating dance floor they have ever experienced, all without the use of drugs.

To transcend limitations and realize our dreams requires patience and the drive to become better. Whether this is achieved through the use of drugs, music or radical self-love makes no difference. Just do what feels right for you, regardless of what society says.

Have you ever had an out of body experience with music? Share your story with us on social media or in the comments below. We’d love to hear from you!

Did Somebody Say Cannabis Cocktails? (See You At The Bar)

warren bobrow interview hero Did Somebody Say Cannabis Cocktails? (See You At The Bar)

A century ago, there were more than just drinks to get you drunk. Drink concoctions to revitalize the body and mind were all the rage. From digestives for the stomach to restoratives for vitality, there was a drink for every occasion. Another hark back to days of yore comes in the form of cannabis tinctures, tonics, and apothecary mixtures. Warren Bobrow, known the world over as The Cocktail Whisperer, has taken his long-held love of both drinks and cannabis and combined them into a book for the ages.

HERB:

You’ve plotted an interesting course in your career to make it to where you are today. What sparked your interest in cocktails and cannabis.

Warren:

I’ve enjoyed cannabis for a long time, though that does tend to age me a bit. As a teen, I grew up with an uncle with hair down to his waist, lived at times on a farm, and went to my first Grateful Dead show in 1971. As for cocktails, I always loved the look of the complicated drinks my family had at dinner or I saw in the movies. James Bond was the posterchild for the martini, and they were just a part of the lifestyle. I was always around it. Cocktails were always a passion, but it wasn’t until I tried several other careers that I came back to them as a full time occupation.

HERB:

What was your first experience like? We have a lot of new cannabis lovers out there, and everyone has their own story. What about your first time with an infused cannabis treat?

Warren:

I don’t recall the first time smoking cannabis, it has been so long, but my first brownie I will never forget. My jaw went numb. I washed it down with a beer, and it turned into a bad experience. But it wasn’t a complete wash. Fast forward May of 2 years ago, I dreamed of that brownie, that beer and that flavor profile: chocolate, dark rum and cannabis. Most of my ideas come to me like that. In a vivid dream in the middle of the night, usually in vivid color. Not many people dream in color, so I have read. I looked into it and didn’t see anyone working in the field of canna-cocktails. I realized that my brownie experience could have been so much better as a drink, something I am far more familiar with, as are most people.

Apothecaries of old and cannabis

2 warren bobrow interview illustration Did Somebody Say Cannabis Cocktails? (See You At The Bar)

HERB:

Tell us about your take on traditional apothecaries and where cannabis fits in.

Warren:

My book actually does a take on the original apothecary. They were who the common folk would have gone to for healing. Apothecaries were old country healers, and much closer than doctors. They used what they had on hand: herbs, salves, and other homemade remedies right up until the Pure Food and Drug Act. That put most of them underground, but they are still out there.

HERB:

Why were so many old remedies in the form of alcohol?

Warren:

Before electricity and refrigeration, there was no other way to keep things fresh. You would use salt, drying, smoke curing, and liquor. Water back then was hardly sanitary, unless it came directly from a well or spring. Old time garden punches were made to purify water, as well as give infusions of healthy herbs and spices. Restorative drinks were how many people took in vitamins if wholesome food weren’t around, and a lot of the time it wasn’t.

Cannabis Cocktails

HERB:

Tell us about your new book, and how it differs from your previous work? We know it deals with cannabis, but how was the process for researching and writing different?

Warren:

I had to do a lot of research. But in the end, I took the spirit of what I learned about old cannabis drinks and put a modern bartender’s twist on them. All the drinks in my book are original creations. Many cannabis tinctures back in the day also had things like opium, ladinum, and ether in them. That wouldn’t work today.

HERB:

So this book has really put you out on a limb, professionally?

Warren:

Quite. I am the unofficial spokesman for a prominent alcohol label, but dealing with cannabis has put a strain on a lot of those relationships. They don’t want to touch it. So I have really staked my reputation and career on publishing this book. It took a toll on my personal relationships with my family as well.
