Cannabis Church Founder Bill Levin’s Beloved Peacock Was Murdered
The peacock that belonged to the Bill Levin, the founder of the First Church of Cannabis, has been murdered in bizarre circumstances.

The self-titled Grand Poobah of the First Church of Cannabis, Bill Levin, is mourning the death of his pet peacock, Bert, who was murdered. The peacock was found by Levin’s roommate, who discovered the body of Bert in an alley behind their home on the northeast side of Indiana.
The bird appears to have died suffered serious blunt force trauma. During the killing, someone allegedly plucked all of Bert’s feathers out, then left its body outside the property. Of course, the killing was devastating for Levin, who is still reeling from the loss of his “best friend of 12 years.”
I came home after church Wednesday night, about 8:30, and my roommate was walking down the street with feathers. I thought it was last year’s feathers, because they fall out. She turned around, she was crying, and I realized that it was not last year’s feathers.
The neighborhood reported it was a dog attack. I went down, I examined, and it was clearly a human attack. There were no puncture wounds, no blood. Somebody captured my bird, held him by his tail feathers, smacked him on the ground and pulled all his tail feathers out. He crawled under another bush and died – and that’s how I found him.
Unfortunately, the peacock isn’t the only one of Levin’s animals to die under suspicious circumstances, as one of his goats, Daisy, died earlier in the year after being seen healthy just hours before. Even now, Levin believes she was poisoned.

Domino’s And Ford Want To Deliver Pizzas Using Self-Driving Cars
This September, the Ford Motor Company and Domino’s Pizza will begin testing the reactions of Michigan consumers who are having pies delivered by new self-driving vehicles.

While that seems like some futuristic way of delivering pizzas, it is not the first experiment with advanced pizza delivery technology. That honor belongs to pizza lovers Down Under, where Australia-based Domino’s Pizza Enterprises (the Ann Arbor-based company’s largest independent franchisee) has tested delivery to customers in New Zealand using drones.
In a recent blog post, the head of Ford’s autonomous and electric vehicles, Sherif Marakby, made it clear that the automaker has broader ambitions, saying Ford planned to cooperate “with multiple partners” in seeing self-driving vehicles deployed, which will be “designed to improve the movement of people and goods.” In the past, executives at Ford had said the company expected to launch a self-driving shuttle for commercial ride-sharing fleets by 2021.
But Stateside, Domino’s and Ford will begin to deliver pizzas to randomly selected customers in the Ann Arbor area, with a Ford Fusion Hybrid, which is equipped with self-driving technology – although, the delivery vehicles will initially be piloted by human drivers.

The customers will be able to track the delivery process, via GPS, and will receive text messages on just how to retrieve the pies when the delivery vehicle has arrived. There is still one problem with automation, which is just how to deliver pizzas economically to the top level of a college dorm.
For now, the test vehicle will not attempt to solve that problem. For now, it will stop outside the customer’s house, and not provide true door-to-door delivery service.

Kathy Bates Told Conan That NFL Players Should Be Able To Use Medical Cannabis
While appearing on “Conan” to promote her new Netflix weed sitcom, “Disjointed,” Kathy Bates also took some time to advocate the use of weed in professional sports.

With the launch of Disjointed, the new weed-centric sitcom on Netflix, Kathy Bates appeared on Conan, where she not only spoke about the research that went into developing her character but also the use of weed in professional sports.
In Disjointed, Bates plays the owner of a medical cannabis dispensary, which required her to do some more “character research” backstage before her interview with Conan. When asked her about her character, the Oscar-winning actress said, “She’s Ruth Whitefeather Feldstone – no, Ruth Whitefeather Feldman,” adding that she’s “gotta get this right.”
But it wasn’t all laughs and promotion, as Bates got serious, when she talked about the Gridiron Cannabis Foundation. The foundation focuses on advancing the research of medical cannabis, which will allow NFL players to use an alternative way to treat injuries, including concussions and chronic pain.
When speaking about the subject, Bates said,
[T]hese guys belong to this foundation, and they’ve gotten off of the pharmaceuticals for their brain injuries, and they’ve actually gone on to cannabis and it’s really helped them a lot.
Although, she did add a disclaimer, too, saying she is not an expert. “I’ve only done research for my character, and it’s not for everybody, so I want to just say that.”

How To Make Mojo Pork Taco Lasagna 2.0
Mojo Pork Taco Lasagna
- Prep time: 35 minutes
- Cycle time: 5 minutes
- Cook time: 30 minutes
- Serving size: 1 slice
- Yield: 12-15 servings
Ingredients
Magical Mojo Marinade
- ½ cup Magical Olive Oil
- 2 cups cilantro
- 10 cloves garlic, chopped
- 5 green onion whites
- 2 tablespoons fresh oregano, chopped
- 1 tablespoon chopped mint
- 1 tablespoon orange zest
- 1 tablespoon Adobo seasoning
- 2 teaspoons cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Salt and pepper to taste
Lasagna
- ½ cup Magical Olive Oil
- 2 pounds boneless pork chops
- 1 can (16 ounces) refried beans
- 1 can (15 ounces) black beans, rinsed and drained
- 1 can (14½ ounces) Mexican-style diced tomatoes, undrained
- ½ cup mojo drippings
- ½ cup onion, diced
- ½ cup multicolored bell peppers, chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 12 flour tortillas, 8-inch
How-to
Magical Mojo Marinade
- Place all the ingredients inside your MagicalButter machine, and secure the lid.
- Press the Blend/Clean button.
- When the short cycle is complete, your Magical Mojo Marinade is ready to use.Lasagna
Lasagna
- Preheat your oven to 275°F.
- Lay the pork chops flat inside a glass baking dish of 9 by 13 inches.
- Evenly pour the Magical Mojo Marinade over the pork.
- Bake for 4 hours. Remove the dish from the oven, and increase the temperature to 350°F.
- Shred the cooked pork, and place it in a large mixing bowl. Add the mojo drippings, and stir thoroughly.
- In a large skillet on medium-high, heat the Magical Olive Oil. Reduce heat to medium, and sauté the onion, bell peppers, salt, and pepper for 10 minutes, stirring frequently.
- Add the refried and black beans and tomatoes. Reduce heat to low, and simmer uncovered for 15-20 minutes.
- In a greased 13-by-9-inch baking dish, place a layer of tortillas.
- Spread half the bean mixture over the tortillas, and top with ¾ cup of cheese.
- Add another layer of tortillas, top with half the pork, then ¾ cup of cheese.
- Repeat layering steps, topping the dish with the remaining tortillas and cheese.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil, and bake it on the center rack for 30 minutes, or until your Mojo Pork Taco Lasagna 2.0 is heated through and the cheese is melted. ¡Enjoy!

How To make Cannabis Butter Nutter Butter Cookies
These soft, crumbly homemade Nutter Butter cookies have a creamy filling in a fun to eat peanut shell shape, and are made even more fun with MagicalButter!
Cannabis Butter Nutter Butter Cookies
- Prep time: 15 minutes
- Cook time: 20 minutes
- Serving Size: 1-2 Cookies
Ingredients
- ½ cup (1 stick) MagicalButter, room temperature
- 1½ cups flour
- 1 cup light brown sugar, firmly packed
- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 tablespoon vanilla bean paste
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 large egg
Frosting
- 4 tablespoons MagicalButter, room temperature
- 1½ cups powdered sugar
- ½ cup creamy peanut butter
- 2 tablespoons heavy cream
- 2 teaspoon vanilla bean paste
How-to
Cookies
- Preheat your oven to 350°.
- In a small mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In a large bowl, cream together the MagicalButter and brown sugar. Add the egg and vanilla, beating until well combined. Add the peanut butter, and combine thoroughly. Then, add the dry ingredients until they’re just blended in.
- Form the dough into 1-inch balls. Roll the balls in sugar. Form them into log shapes, and roll them in sugar.
- Place the logs on a cookie sheet, about 2 inches apart. Using the tines of a fork, make a criss-cross pattern in the dough. Then, pinch the middle of each cookie to make a peanut shape.
- Bake the cookies for 7-10 minutes, until they’re lightly browned on the edges and still soft in the center.
- Remove the cookies from the oven and let them rest on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Frosting
- In a large mixing bowl, whip the butter on medium speed for 1 minute, or until light and fluffy.
- Add in 1 cup of powdered sugar, the peanut butter, peanut butter powder, cream, and vanilla.
- Gradually add in the remaining powdered sugar until the frosting is smooth.
- Top your Cannabis Butter Nutter Butter Cookies with frosting, make into sandwiches, serve, and enjoy!

A FedEx Truck Delivered Weed During A Drug Bust
What’s worse than getting busted? That would be when the FedEx guy drops by with a package of weed when the bust is in progress.

Do you think you’re having a bad day? Sure, there are always day-to-day dramas – and some are worse than others – but if you believe in luck, then this guy has the worst.
Last week, in what could be the worst case of bad luck possible, an Oklahoman man had just had been raided by the police – resulted in 76 pounds of weed being seized – as FedEx made a delivery of, wait for it, even more weed.
The man, Dustin Drank, was arrested in Tulsa after the bust. During the raid, the police allegedly found 76 pounds of your favorite herb, as well as $19,000 in “drug proceeds,” across two residences. But the really bad luck came in the form of a delivery, which took place during the raid, where a FedEx truck dropped off boxes to a house that were also found to have some more weed.
Responding to the incident, a FedEx spokesperson said in a statement that,
FedEx Ground does not tolerate the use of its network for illegal shipments. We are cooperating with authorities as they investigate this incident.
The 35-year-old man was charged with possessing or receiving drug proceeds and has a $30,000 bond. It seems it wasn’t the first time Drank has been on the wrong side – or is it the right side? – of prohibition, though, as KRMG reported the officers said Drank was caught in a drug bust in 2013 that resulted in two pounds of weed, worth about $8,000, being seized.

The Notorious B.I.G’s “Ready To Die” To Be Re-Issued On Vinyl
For the first time in over a decade, Biggie’s “Ready to Die” is going to be released, again, on vinyl.

It’s been over two decades since he was murdered, but the Notorious B.I.G. continues to have an impact on popular culture and the music industry.
While his career was short-lived, only releasing one album before his murder, the music of Biggie Smalls continues to entertain and inspire. His debut album, Ready to Die, is still considered one of the pivotal albums in hip-hop’s history, with its impact still resonating in the scene.
Now, with the resurgence of vinyl records, one label is set to release Ready to Die on the format. That label is Vinyl Me, Please, which will release the album for the first time on a limited edition colored vinyl.
The remastered vinyl includes the original cover, which has metallic red foil and an embossed text, and will be pressed on two LPs – one is a white vinyl with black and red splatter across it, and the second being black vinyl with white and red splatter. Included with the re-release will an exclusive 12×12-inch art by Braulio Amado.
How do you get one of these limited edition albums? That’s easy. But only if you have a subscription to Vinyl Me, Please, as subscribers will be receiving the LP in September. Speaking to Billboard, Cameron Schaefer, the head of music of Vinyl Me Please, said that they’ve recognized the demand for hip-hop records, which is why they decided to have a hip-hop-based subscription to cater to the younger fans, who missed it the first time around.

What Happens When A Republican, A Democrat, And An Independent Smoke Weed Together?
The title could lead to a punch line, or a punch being thrown, but you can be sure that the latest episode of Cut’s “Strange Buds” series is going to be interesting.

In this episode of Cut’s Strange Buds series, a Republican, a Democrat and an Independent sit down to smoke weed and talk politics, which some people would consider to not be all that chill. Just as you’d expect when it comes to politics, the video has barely started when the video cuts to a debate, but what did you expect?
The three guests are Shakira, who identifies as a Democrat, Anthony, who’s an Independent, and Chelsea, who’s the Republican. Out of the three, who do you think has smoked weed? Leave your preconceived notions at the door, as all three answer “yes,” “yes” and “yes.”
The next question: do they talk about politics? In this case, yes. But, normally, Chelsea – the resident Republican – doesn’t talk about it with people she doesn’t know, because “a lot of people get offended with politics.” Why do people get offended? “You tell me,” says Chelsea. From there, things kick off.
While the Republican and Democrat talk about the state of the nation, and what the president is doing, Anthony does the right thing and lights the joint. After all, this is about smoking, right?
Five minutes later, after everyone has smoked, the conversation keeps going. Anthony reckons that the country has “intensified the negativity,” which Chelsea sees as a byproduct of social media. Shakira asks Chelsea, if she thinks it’s just that, and “not the guy who’s running the country.” The Republican doesn’t agree entirely, saying it is “a factor.”
That leads right into the president’s favorite subject, outside of himself, which is “fake news.” It is something that Chelsea thinks is also a factor. Another question asked by Chelsea is if she wants to keep smoking or not. Of course, she does, because this video wouldn’t work, otherwise, nor would it be as entertaining as it is.
Ten minutes after that, things seem to be a bit more chill, which is when the bong comes out. Anthony, the first to smoke the joint and the bong, takes a big hit and is then ready to talk politics.

5 Strange But True Facts You Probably Don’t Know About “Tripping Balls”

It might be hard to believe, but acid tripping began on a bicycle. In fact, it happened the day before 4/20 (albeit, back in 1943), when a Swiss chemist, Albert Hofmann, ingested 250 micrograms of LSD, which he helped synthesize five years before.
After accidentally dosing, and finding himself “tripping balls,” Hofmann decided he had to go home. The problem was, it was during World War II, so he couldn’t drive home – although, he wasn’t in the best state to do so, anyway – and that’s why he ended up riding his bicycle while under the influence of psychedelics.
And, just so you know, the next time “Bicycle Day” and 4/20 take place over a weekend will be in 2025.
The next fact, which is just as weird as you’d expect, is all about what the government – specifically, the CIA – were spending taxpayer money on. In its LSD Mind Control Department (yes, there was such a thing), the CIA had prostitutes and magicians on staff. It sounds like the spooks would have done almost anything, including controlling the minds of citizens, to beat the Soviets, though.
Another fact is the use of hallucinogens possibly being useful for treating addictions. That fact takes us back to Albert Hofmann, who always hated the fact that acid – what he called “medicine for the soul” – couldn’t be used clinically.

Jim Carrey Is A Painter Now And You Need To Watch His Art Documentary
At one point, Jim Carrey was not only the king of movie comedies, but he was also the highest-paid actor in Hollywood. These days, the comedian has taken a step back from the limelight, becoming somewhat of a recluse in Hollywood.

That change in lifestyle has seen the actor notably absent from the screen, with his last starring roles The Incredible Burt Wonderstone and Kick-Ass 2, back in back in 2013 and 2014, respectively.

This Chef Is Sacrificing The Easy Life To Help The Cannabis Cause
Would you be prepared to sacrifice for something you believe in? As hemp is still not legalized in New Zealand, one New Zealander has put his life aside to make sure that the plant thrives Down Under, giving up his home, and cooking out the back of a van. That man is Cameron Sims, who is doing all that he can for hemp.
Cooking for the cause
If you’re on this website, you’ll know that hemp is the non-psychoactive form of cannabis, which is rich in protein (and has many health benefits) but is also illegal in New Zealand.
For some people, their home is their castle, but for this Kiwi entrepreneur, his home is his car, having chosen to live in his van to further the cause. In an interview with One News, Cameron Sims says,
I have a comfortable mattress, and it’s all I need. I’m really focused on my business.
And his business? That’s Plant Culture, which supplies food products made from hemp.
I love hemp. I’m possessed by hemp. I want to share hemp with New Zealand.
As is the case with countries that haven’t legalized hemp, the reporter does bring up the stereotypical stoner cliché, as is often the case. That sees the reporter, Tim Wilson, asking Sims – albeit, in the aim of laughs – if he “smokes pot,” “gets high,” or, yes, even if he “blazes up.”
For all those questions, the answer from Sims is a firm no. It is a means to an end, with the video quickly explaining that the still illegal “clean, green and delicious” hemp can produce a hemp seed oil that is legal, but the byproduct, hemp protein, isn’t. But it looks like the latter will soon be legal in New Zealand.

Street Fills With Cannabis Smoke After Fire Burns Through Attic Grow OP
For one unlucky amateur grower, a fire brought a suspected grow – or, as the Brits call it, a suspected “drugs farm” – to an en after it broke out at a residential property in Liverpool. As the fire grew in size, the cannabis fumes drifted over a large part of the Liverpool suburb of Wavertree, sending the sweet smoke into the street.
What’s that smell?
Last Wednesday, firefighters were called to the residential property after reports of a fire in a terraced house, which was sending flames shooting through the roof. But it was the smoke that raised eyebrows, with one local being quoted as saying to The Liverpool Echo that “[T]hose firemen won’t be able to drive home, lad.”
To get to the blaze, firefighters in an aerial unit pulled tiles off the roof, while water was shot into the roof from a hose below. As is the case, dozens of neighbors came out into the streets to witness the drama, and possibly to get a whiff, with some telling The Echo that at one point the whole street was filled with smoke.
Another neighbor of the stricken house said he “couldn’t feel the heat or anything from my house, but there’s nothing left of the roof.” He also added that there’s “an old Chinese couple live there, you often see them coming and going.”
Another local said that she “ran out panicking and shouting that there was a fire,” which is why she called the fire service. Along with the neighbors, she also said there was “a strong smell of cannabis in the air,” and suggested it was not the first time they had smelled drugs on the street.
It sounds like quite the block party.

Neil deGrasse Tyson Says Cannabis Should Be Legalized
Just like his hero and television predecessor, Carl Sagan, Neil deGrasse Tyson also finds no reason in science for the weed prohibition. Tyson is smart enough to know the good that comes with your favorite herb. If the smartest people in the world are calling for the end of prohibition, maybe it’s time everyone listened.

As one of most well known of living scientists, Tyson is regularly in the media, but this time is a little different. Last week, while answering questions on Facebook Live, it was revealed that Tyson is in favor of cannabis being legalized.
The topic came up after he asked whether Tyson agrees with the late cosmologist Carl Sagan on cannabis policy,
There’s no reason for [marijuana] to ever have been made illegal. I think, if you really analyze it, relative to other things that are legal, there’s no reason for it to ever have been made illegal in the system of laws.
The answer was in response to a question submitted by Tom Angell – of the pro-legalization group Marijuana Majority – during a Facebook Live event with co-host Chuck Nice. He also added, “I mean, alcohol is legal, and it can mess you up way more than smoking a few Js.”
But, unlike Sagan, Tyson doesn’t see weed as the best path to enlightenment. While Sagan smoked recreationally and medically (the latter being towards the end of his life,) his modern day counterpart tends not to smoke.
If you’re in an altered state, you can think something is good that you just created, but it really isn’t. For me, the least altered state of awareness I can achieve is the one that I seek, because that one is most likely to be closest to reality.
So, instead of passing your blunt to Tyson, just keep smoking and let him explain the stars.

How To Make Sticky Icky Wings
Make a platter of these MagicalButter infused sticky icky wings at your next party and watch them fly off the plate.
Sticky Icky Wings
- Prep time: 10 minutes
- Cook time: 1¼ hours
- Serving size: 4-6 wings
Ingredients
Wings
- 2 pounds chicken wings
- 4 tablespoons olive oil
- 4 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon garlic, granulated
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- ½ teaspoon pepper, freshly ground
Sauce
- ½ cup Magical Butter
- ¾ cup Sriracha hot sauce or gochujang (Korean-style red chili paste)
- ½ cup raw local honey, plus more for drizzling
- ½ cup soy sauce
- ¼ cup mango purée
- ¼ cup rice wine vinegar
- 5 large garlic cloves, rough chopped
- 1 tablespoon fish sauce
- 1 tablespoon ground ginger
- 1 tablespoon Adobo Seasoning
- 1 fresh lime, including zest (zest it first)
Garnish
- 2 tablespoons chives, chopped
- 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1 tablespoon black and white sesame seeds
How-to
Sauce
- Place the ingredients inside your MagicalButter machine, and secure the lid.
- Press the Temperature button, and select 160°F; then, press the 1 Hour/Oil button.
- When time is up, your sauce is ready!
Wings
- Preheat your oven to 400°F.
- Put your wings into a medium-size bowl. (Your chicken wings, that is.) Add the olive oil, granulated garlic, salt, and pepper, and mix well.
- Place them on a large, rimmed baking tray lined with foil, and spread them out evenly.
- Place the wings into your preheated oven, and bake for 45 minutes.
- When time is up, carefully remove the wings from the tray, and place them into a large bowl. You will use the tray again in the next step.
- Pour the warm Sticky Icky Sauce over the wings, and toss to completely coat them; then return them to the baking tray.
- Broil your Sticky Icky Wings on high for 2-5 minutes to create a slight char.
- Remove from the oven, plate, garnish, serve, and enjoy!

Border Agents Find $200K Worth Of Weed In Fake Dish Network Van
Talk about getting “hooked up”…! Border Patrol agents in Arizona found a large cache of cannabis in a van that had been cloned to look exactly like a Dish Network vehicle.
Ditch the Dish
A drug-detecting dog working for the Border Patrol alerted authorities to a van that had stopped at the Ajo Station immigration checkpoint, according to the U.S. Customs and Border Patrol. Agents then discovered numerous bricks of apparent Mexican schwag in plain sight. The bricks were wrapped in brown cellophane tape.
The bricks were tested (duh!) and discovered to be cannabis, according to the Border Patrol.
The van, which sported the Dish Network logo, held more than 396 pounds of weed. Agents claimed it had an estimated street value of nearly $199,000.
The driver, a 39-year-old American citizen, was busted on suspicion of smuggling cannabis, agents said.

How To Make Cannabis-Infused Sticky Pot Stickers
Sticky Pot Stickers are juicy and flavorsome dumplings that need to be a part of your weekend snack menu. The Magical Canna Oil gives them an extra pop.
Sticky Pot Stickers
- Prep time: 20 minutes
- Cook time: 5 to 7 minutes
- Serving size: 4 to 5 dumplings
- Yield: About 45 to 50 dumplings
Ingredients
- ½ cup Magical Olive Oil, plus 4 tablespoons
- ¾ pound ground turkey or pork, 95 to 99 percent lean
- 6 scallions (white parts only), minced
- 2 cups Dank Dippin’ Sauce
- 1 cup cabbage, minced
- ½ cup carrots minced
- 2 tablespoons ginger, minced
- 2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
- 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon Japanese 7-Spice
- 1 egg, lightly beaten in a bowl
- 48 dumpling wrappers
How-to
- In a large bowl, thoroughly mix your coconut oil, meat, cabbage, carrots, ginger, garlic, scallion whites, Japanese 7-Spice, and 2 tablespoons of hoisin sauce.
- Lay a wrapper on a clean, dry surface. Using your finger or a brush, spread a bit of egg along half its circumference.
- Place the dumplings on a plate; if you want to wait before cooking, cover the plate with plastic wrap, and refrigerate it. Or, freeze it for up to two weeks.
To Cook
- Put your oil in a large nonstick skillet and turn heat to medium-high, and let it heat up for a minute.
- Add dumplings, one at a time; they can touch one another, but should still sit flat in one layer. Cook about 2 minutes, or until bottoms are lightly browned and most of the oil has been absorbed.
- Flip the dumplings, and cook for another 1 to 2 minutes, add half of your Dank Dipping Sauce, and cook for 1 to 2 minutes, or until the sauce thickens to the desired consistency.
Dank Dipping Sauce
- Prep time: 5 minutes
- Ready time: 1 hour
- Serving size: ¼ cup
- Yield: About 2 ½ cups
Ingredients
- ½ cup Magical Butter
- 1 cup high-quality soy sauce or ponzu (citrus soy sauce)
- 1 cup high-quality soy sauce or ponzu (citrus soy sauce)
- ⅓ cup rice vinegar 3 scallions (green parts only), minced

- ⅓ cup garlic chili sauce
- 1 tablespoon crystallized ginger, minced

When It Comes To Weed Ads, It Doesn’t Get Much Higher Than This
Despite other brands and canna-businesses trying to find loopholes to allow them to advertise their products, one company has found a way to have people watch their commercial while they’re high. Wikileaf has launched the first in-flight cannabis commercial with a major airline in the United States.

Wikileaf, the creators of the app of the same name that allows users to compare prices of products and dispensaries, is currently running an in-flight commercial that plays on every seatback with a screen on Virgin America’s domestic routes.
You may have already seen the campaign, too, since it’s been running since mid-June, and will continue through until mid-September. The CEO Wikileaf, Dan Nelson, said to Ad Age that the ad is expected to reach nearly 8 million passengers.
We wanted to get somewhere more mainstream. We had ads in various magazines and online places where it’s cannabis-focused, but we wanted some out-of-the-box ideas.
The cannabis industry has to turn to inventive advertising, due to being an industry boxed in by legal statutes, as well as corporate policies.
On example is the commercial that was supposed to be the first televised cannabis ad, back in 2015, which never made it to air (since Denver’s ABC affiliate cited legal concerns). And because the federal government still regulates airwaves, the laws surrounding television ads for weed are unclear, due to cannabis being illegal at the federal level.

The Coen Brothers Are Making A TV Series For Netflix About The Old West
Forget Netflix and chill; there is an even better combination coming, which is “Netflix and the Coen brothers.” When Joel and Ethan Coen announced that the brothers were working on a secret television project, film fans over the world started to get excited, despite the fact there was little known about the series. That’s other than its title: The Ballad of Buster Scruggs.

Then, fast-forward six months, another announcement has been made, revealing that the series is for Netflix.
The Netflix original is a Western anthology, which is set to feature six tales about the American frontier told through the unique and incomparable voice of the Coen brothers, with each chapter to feature a distinct story about the Old West.
The Coens will not only write and direct the entirety of the series, but the brothers will also serve as executive producers. The anthology series will also reunite the storytellers with Tim Blake Nelson, an actor, writer, and director, who was last worked with them in O Brother, Where Art Thou?

Latest iPhone 8 Leak Reveals Next-Level Mobile Technology
A code snippet that was posted on Twitter suggests that the new iPhone 8 could have a feature that will silence the phone’s alerts when a user looks at its screen.

Sure, the tweet is not a confirmation of a final feature, but it could be another use for the rumored 3D face-scanning technology that the next generation of iPhone is reported to have.
The latter was revealed when another leak hinted that the iPhone 8 is said to have infrared face unlock, which is a form of biometric security that would let users access the device without having to engage with the lockscreen. By utilizing those sensors, it means the iPhone 8 could be smart enough to silence the alerts because it knows that you’re already looking at your phone.
With the release just a month away, more and more details about the next iPhone are finding their way online. The other leaks have reportedly shown the glass back plate, which hints towards a possibility of induction charging, and that the camera will also be getting a major upgrade.
Another leak is that the home button will be removed completely from this generation of iPhone. There are further reports that state the new phone is likely to have two front-facing cameras, and an infrared sensor, which will help with the aforementioned facial recognition, a feature that could be used to unlock the phone, along with the automatic muting of notifications.
But, there is another question, which is just how secure is this biometric security? Time will tell.

There’s A Cheetos Pop-Up Restaurant Opening In New York City
Calling all Cheetos lovers, the cheese that goes crunch is the focus of a new pop-up restaurant that is open in New York City.

Yes, you can still snack on the tasty cornmeal snacks, but there is another way to dine on Cheetos, and that is fine dining. Well, it’s not exactly fine dining, but it is a step further than your hand digging into a bag of Cheetos. That’s because a Cheetos pop-up restaurant has opened in the Big Apple.
After almost 70 years of the snack only being offered in a bag, things are about to change – and change quite dramatically. This week, The Spotted Cheetah brings some crunchy cuisine to New York City. The pop-up restaurant, which is open from August 15 to 17), with Food Network star Anne Burrell as the head chef.
So, outside of Cheeto dust, what will the The Spotted Cheetah offer? The menu includes dishes such as items include Cheetos Mix-ups Crusted Chicken Milanese, Flamin’ Hot Mac ‘n’ Cheese, Purrfectly Fried Green Tomatoes, which can be finished off with a slice of Cheetos Sweetos Crusted Cheesecake.
But, if you like to keep it simpler than mac ‘n’ cheese, you could order the Cheetos-crusted fried pickles with ranch as the starter, followed by the Cheetos-topped grilled cheese and tomato soup. Just remember to make sure to use a napkin.

Watch This Street Artist Turn A Wall Into A Masterpiece In Just Two Days
As one of Atlanta’s hottest emerging street artists, Paper Frank is one the rise, which is why Brisk asked him to take his unique perspective and alter a mundane wall in the city.

In “The Project,” the second episode of That’s Brisk, you’ll see the techniques and processes that Frank uses to create the mural on the large city wall – all in just two days.
For this mural, Atlanta street artist Paper Frank chose to paint a giant, holographic tiger, “trying to clap a butterfly off his nose.” Obviously, his art carries a lot of meaning for Frank, since he came from a rough place.
It sounds so cliché, but just to see a flower grow out of a crack in the cement is just crazy to me. I did come from a rough place, so it’s like we’re the same thing. Everything doesn’t have to be sugarcoated. Like, it’s still a pretty flower, it’s just got some teeth – that makes it not pretty?
The video not only gives insight to the artist but also the techniques that he uses. First, Frank puts the black down, then he does the color on top of that, so whatever’s on the outside is the outline. That technique means Frank doesn’t have to go back over it. “But it looks like a brush painting when you do it like that.”
If you really look at the mural, it looks like a whole bunch of ovals, like this, like I just did this on every part, then when you stand across the street, it looks crazy. But Frank never steps back. “I just stay on it.
And, as you’ll see, the results are amazing.

How To Make Cannabis-Infused Pizza Cones
Just when you thought pizza couldn’t get any more amazing. These delicious pizza cones are made even better with cannabis-infused olive oil.
Pizza Cones
- Prep time: 5 minutes
- Cook time: 20 minutes
- Serving size: 1 cone
- Yield: 12 cones
Ingredients
Sauce
- ½ cup Magical Olive Oil
- 1 can (28 ounces) San Marzano tomatoes
- 6 ounces tomato paste
- 6 garlic cloves, chopped
- ¼ cup fresh basil, chopped
- 2 tablespoons fresh oregano, chopped
- 1 tablespoon sea salt
Cones
- 1 pizza dough, store-bought
- 3 cups mozzarella cheese, shredded
Toppings
Classic pizza toppings, e.g., pepperoni, bell pepper, onion, bacon, mushrooms, Italian sausage, etc. Or, get as creative as you feel!How-to
How-to
Sauce
- Place all the ingredients inside your MagicalButter machine, and secure the lid.
- Press the Blend/Clean button.Once this short cycle is finished, you’re ready to use your sauce.

Cones
- Preheat your oven to 375F.
- Completely cover a cone-shaped paper cup or conical object of similar size with aluminum foil.
- Generously dust a clean countertop with flour. Use this surface for slicing the pizza dough into 12 pieces.
- Roll out each dough slice to a thickness of ⅛ inch.
- Lightly coat the foil-covered cones with MagicalButter, oil, or non-stick spray. Then, carefully cover each with a slice of rolled-out dough. Place the dough cones on a baking sheet, pointed end up.
- Bake them for 6-7 minutes or until they’re lightly browned.
- Leaving the oven on, remove the cones. Begin filling them with cheese first, then toppings and sauce. Top them with more cheese. As you fill the cones, stand them up in a large cupcake pan.
- Place the cupcake pan in the oven, and bake for an additional 10 minutes.
- Let your Pizza Cones cool for 2-3 minutes. Serve, and enjoy!

Then, it goes to Lara and Matt, but the quickly latter points out – and rightfully so – that the butane lighter is “harsh on his chest.” He’s not the only one to think that, either, so the hemp wick comes out and the smoking continues. Ten minutes later, the level of elevation is perfect to start that conversation.
For Stella, this Smoke Session begins with why she smokes, which is to feel relaxed after work or school – and smoking is definitely the easiest way to get relaxed. “It’s the best go-to.” For Matt, it’s a simple answer: he’s always liked it, saying,
I totally prefer having a joint and doing something, [rather] than getting drunk.
But the real question is, do their parents know they smoke weed? For Lara, it’s a yes. In fact, she’s smoked with her parents, as she’s “one of those millennials.”

Hawaii’s First Medical Cannabis Dispensary Is Open For Business
After getting the OK from the Hawaii Department of Health, the first sale of medical cannabis has finally taken place in the 50th state, with Kahului’s Maui Grown Therapies having the honor of doing so.

This comes almost twenty years since Hawaii first legalized medical weed, being one of the first to do so, way back in 2000. But, unfortunately for those that need it, dispensaries weren’t legalized until 2015. Yes, 15 years after medical weed was first legalized.
It was actually longer, though, as it wasn’t until April 2016 that the first medical cannabis license was granted. Then, fast-forward to February 2017, when the dispensary – Maui Grown Therapies – received notice from the state that they could move forward with cultivation.
It wasn’t until this past Monday that the dispensary passed its final retail inspection, though, which meant it could be opened for business on the following day. That saw Maui Grown Therapies having a soft opening, which meant only patients that had gone through a pre-opening intake could purchase from Maui Grown Therapies – by appointment, no less.
From August 14, Maul Grown will be open during regular hours, which will include sales to walk-in traffic, too. Those sales will only be of flower, too, since the dispensary is not allowed to sell other products at this time. But, once the Health Department certifies the lab, Maui Grown Therapies will be able to offer concentrates, tinctures, oils, and lotions.

Here’s How Smugglers Hid 440 Pounds Of Hash In Chocolate Bars
If you’ve ever wondered how smugglers try to smuggle in hash into Canada, well, wonder no more, as Canadian authorities have broken a smuggling ring… and a whole lot of chocolate.
Sweet like chocolate
Last Thursday, while checking a container that was bound for Ontario, the Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA) noticed some anomalies in an X-ray image of the shipment that was declared chocolate.
On closer examination, the officers for the Canadian Border Services Agency discovered that it wasn’t just chocolate – each contained 4.4 pounds of hash. That closer examination involved one bar of chocolate, and a rubber mallet, which uncovered the cellophane package containing hash.
Once discovered, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police were brought in, who started an investigation. That led to the arrest of an Ontario man, Owen Jagasar, who was charged with the importation of a controlled substance, possession for the purpose of trafficking and two counts of conspiring to commit an indictable offense under the Criminal Code. If Jagasar is convicted, he could face up to 40 years in prison.
For the Canadian Border Services, it’s just business as usual, since the agency is used to finding almost anything hidden in the most bizarre of places. Calvin Christiansen, the Regional Director of the CBSA’s Atlantic region, reiterated that it was par for the course, saying “We find all kinds of things hidden in all kinds of things.”
But what was unusual was the size of the bust, since the Atlantic region normally only discovers small amounts of hash, and definitely not hundreds of pounds.

Turns Out, Empty Cereal Boxes Isn’t A Great Place To Hide Weed
Sneaking pot from one state to another can go one of two ways. By the grace of God, you’ll make it, or you’ll wind up getting busted. And well, you can kiss your buds goodbye after that. Just ask 23-year-old Donald Roots-Scott Jr., who was caught carrying two pounds of that loud pack hidden in cereal boxes from Cali to Louisiana.

During a traffic stop on Interstate 12, Louisiana’s St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Highway Enforcement arrested a fellow for possessing roughly two pounds of high-grade pot. Apparently, cereal boxes don’t make for an excellent spot to hide weed. But hey, it was worth a shot.
On Tuesday morning, officers set up a traffic stop, which is when they noticed a rental car with California plates heading east at 86 miles an hour, according to St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office’s Facebook page.
Inside the vehicle sat 23-year-old Donald Roots-Scott Jr. of Sacramento, who confessed that not only was his license expired, but also that he had weed on him.
As the deputies began searching the car, they came across the two pounds of pot. Some of it was inside a box of Honey Nut Cheerios, while the rest was in a box of Captain Crunch cereal. According to Roots-Scott, he was delivering the goods for distribution in nearby Mississippi.
Naturally, he was then charged with possession with intent to distribute Schedule 1 hallucinogens. On top of that charge, he also received two others. One for driving above the speed limit, and another for not having a license.
The last anyone has heard, he was being held in St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office’s jail in Covington, Louisiana. Just Friday, August 4th, is when he went before Commissioner Foil for his arraignment. Whether or not he plans to lawyer up remains a mystery.

This Man Was Brutally Attacked After Asking Gang To Stop Smoking Weed
Last Sunday, a 44-year-old man riding on a Dallas Area Rapid Transit train was beaten by a group of passengers after he asked them to stop smoking weed on the train. The video of the attack on Kennan Jones went gone viral, which led to the arrest of the men.

In the video, which was originally posted on Facebook by another passenger who witnessed the attack, a group of what looks to be up to seven people are shown kicking, punching and slapping the man.
The victim, Kennan Jones, said he spoke up after the group started smoking up on the train, telling NBC5,
I’m like, ‘Come on, man. We’re on a train. Can y’all just wait? Just wait.
After he spoke up, a young woman spat in his face, which led to an attack that eventually spilled out onto the platform. At one point during the attack, Jones got up off the ground and started walking away, but he was attacked, again, until he was left motionless.
The group then got back onto a train and continued their journey. Last Friday, two suspects were arrested in relation to the attack. The two men, who are brothers, are in custody for the attack.
One of the men, Remon Hendrix, is charged him with misdemeanor assault. His brother, Jakobi Hendrix, is being charged with a felony charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Jakobi Hendrix is being held in the Dallas County jail on a $25,000 bond, while Remon Hendrix is being held on a $5,000 bond.

A third suspect, a female juvenile. No further information is available on her at this time. She has been taken to Dallas County’s Henry Wade Juvenile Detention Center.
