Pet Owners Are Successfully Treating Their Animals With CBD Oil

It’s not just people who are using CBD oil, as pets are also benefitting from the hemp extract. These days, more and more people are seeing the benefits of using CBD oil as a medical aid. But some of those people are also pet owners, who are seeing their pets benefit from using CBD oil, too.

Yes, CBD oil can be prescribed by your veterinarian, which won’t get elevate your four-legged family member.

One example of a pet benefitting from using CBD oil is Fred, a 12-year-old pug that is a service dog for his owner Johnathan Sexton, who has epilepsy. “You cannot forget ‘pug love,’” says Sexton. “The breath that’s called ‘pug love’ and you just know that scent.”

Sexton says that scent helps bring him back whenever he has a seizure.

Whenever he’s there and starts licking the mouth and face and says ‘I love you, I love you, I love you’ so I smell that smell and hear him say ‘I love you,’ I say ‘that’s Fred’ and start coming back and start connecting the dots from there.

But a couple months ago, Fred started feeling his age, losing energy and not eating like he used to. That’s when Fred’s vet prescribed the CBD oil.

I took him home and put four drops of CBD on a cracker. That week, I could not get him to quit eating, and he was a youthful pug.

There are veterinarians that say CBD oil can be used to treat a variety of symptoms, including seizures, nausea, stress, anxiety, arthritis, back pain, symptoms of cancer and gastrointestinal issues. And for Sexton and Fred, it has worked a treat and may have saved both their lives.
